Zhejiang Ningbo opens its first direct cargo route to Budapest, Hungary

This marks the official start of the Ningbo-Budapest cargo route, and it is also the first direct cargo route opened by Ningbo Airport to cities in Central and Eastern European countries.

It is reported that the Ningbo-Hungarian-Budapest cargo route is a regular route operated by China Eastern Logistics in the B787-900 "passenger-to-cargo" mode. It flies twice a week, departing from Ningbo in the early morning of every Wednesday and Friday, and landing in the early morning of every Thursday and Saturday. In Ningbo, the maximum cargo capacity of a one-way flight can reach 35 tons.

Budapest is the capital of Hungary. It is located in the hinterland of the European continent and has convenient transportation.

In recent years, Ningbo's trade with Central and Eastern European countries, especially Hungary, has developed rapidly. According to data, from January to April 2021, Ningbo's import and export volume with 17 countries in Central and Eastern Europe was 11.96 billion yuan (RMB, the same below), an increase of 48.8% year-on-year, of which imports increased by 241.2%, a record high.
